Your accommodation boasts a beautiful and rich history. Built over 200 years ago, the house was the home of Mayor Paul Rouvier in the 1800s. Closely linked to cognac production, the building has retained its charm, thanks in particular to the Portuguese tiles that decorate it.
The name of the establishment, the "H de Surgères", refers to Hélène de Surgères, lady-in-waiting to Catherine de Medici. She was Pierre de Ronsard's muse, leading to an impossible love affair. Their story inspired the names of our five guest rooms.

A prime situation
Located in the heart of Surgères town center, our establishment is easily accessible. You'll easily reach the routes that lead to La Rochelle, Rochefort-sur-Mer, and Niort.
The H de Surgères is also a guest house close to the train station: you can get there in 12 minutes on foot. For an additional fee, we can arrange a transfer between the Surgères TGV train station and the house.
A varied and pleasant breakfast
In the large veranda, start the day with a delicious breakfast. A sweet and savory buffet is offered, including a variety of breads and cheeses, cold cuts, and homemade yogurts.
Benoît, who is also a pastry chef, offers a different treat every morning. Your breakfast is included in the price of your reservation.
A large garden for you to relax in
Beautiful walks await you in the 2,000m² park. You'll find plenty of flowers, a vegetable garden, and a Victorian greenhouse. Sit down on the terrace, in the garden furniture, to enjoy the climate!

Easy parking
Are you driving to the H de Surgères? We offer a private parking lot for your vehicles. It's located behind the hotel and accessible from another street.
The number of spaces in this parking lot is limited, remember to reserve. We'll give you access after check-in.
